Houston Rockets waive Luis Scola

The Houston Rockets have let go of Luis Scola. After he clears waivers he will be an unrestricted free agent and be able to sign with whoever he wants. Luis Scola played 5 seasons with the Rockets. His best season came in 2010-2011 where he averaged 18.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 32 minutes a game. He was a fan favorite in Houston and i’m sure most fans will miss his play.

This move was possibly done to clear more cap space to go after Dwight Howard. The Rockets are now the clear front runners to land the superstar big man after the Nets resigned Brook Lopez and jumped out of the race. The Rockets look to be all in for Howard, and will stop at nothing to get him.
