It looks like the Houston Rockets and Royce White can finally put this strange situation behind them and start focusing on White’s basketball career. White’s anxiety issues have been well-known over the last few months. According to White’s agent Andrew Vye they have a plan in place.
“We’ve all come to an agreement that he is going to be able to drive to the games that he does not feel he can fly to. We are going to work as best we can through the schedule.”
“Royce knows at certain times he is going to have to fly, but when he can drive he is going to have the option to do that. Everybody is on board with that including the league, the union, the Rockets, and Royce and us.”
It has been reported before that Royce would travel by bus and even pay for it all. Not sure what the agreement is now, but it’s nice to see that the league, Houston and Royce are all on board. White is a special talent that needs to focus on his basketball career as well as his disorder. The Rockets obviously believe in this young man and I’m sure White is very grateful for that.
Royce has played in just two preseason games, one in Dallas and one in Houston. He hasn’t lit up the stat-sheet just yet but he has shown of some very flashy passes. I expect to see him get more playing time. Let’s hope he succeeds.
