Should The Houston Rockets Cut Royce White?

Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

I’m sure most of you have heard about the ongoing saga of Royce White the last few days. He has missed practices, takes a bus everywhere and missed games. Believe me, I understand he has issues, but it’s time to cut the crap. This kid needs to grow up and he needs to do it fast before the Rockets cut ties with him.

It seems like he doesn’t realize that no other franchise wanted him except for the Houston Rockets, who selected him with the 16th overall pick. Most NBA analysts said that he had top five talent but due to his off the court issues he was taken too high at 16. He’s throwing the only organization that wanted him under the bus.

Royce becoming a spokesperson for anxiety and other people with mental issues is fantastic. But he’s taking it too far. In my opinion the Rockets have done way more than enough to accommodate him. He claims he deserves fair treatment just like everyone else. Does he realize that he makes millions of dollars to bounce a basketball while average Americans struggle to make ends meet?

I understand that he’s young and has a lot of talent. I don’t mean to sound rude or mean or anything negative, but right now his immaturity far outweighs his talents. It’s one thing to have a disorder. It’s another to be a cry baby about everything. Man up. Ball up. Earn the right to call yourself a professional basketball player. But most of all do it for the millions of people who would die to be in your shoes, Mr. White.
