Houston Rockets Should Trade For DeMarcus Cousins

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings have suspended DeMarcus Cousins indefinitely for “unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team.”

This is not the first time Cousins has been in trouble or suspended by the Kings. It’s safe to say his time in Sacramento is over. Although Cousins has been very immature so far in his career teams will be fighting to land his services.

Cousins is still just 22 years old. Could you imagine pairing him with James Harden? The Houston Rockets future would be set. But would the Rockets be willing to make a deal? I think so. Daryl Morey is always in talks to improve this team. A guy like Cousins would do just that.

If the Rockets needed to upgrade one position it would be power forward. Cousins would be a great fit next to Omer Asik. Cousins is a great post up player and spot up shooter. With that being said he is not a great defender. He would be helped greatly by Asik defensively and at the same time would help Asik greatly offensively.

So far this season Cousins is averaging 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 30 minutes a game. His numbers are down just a bit from last season, but this is also just his third season. He’s also on a team filled with players who only succeed with the ball in their hand. The chemistry is very weak. DeMarcus needs a new home in order for him to continue progressing in the NBA.

It would probably take a lot to land the big man but we all know Morey is one of the best at creating deals and staying in trade rumors. Cousins is only owed $3.8 million this year so the Rockets could easily swing the deal. It would have to be up to the Kings accepting the deal.

The Rockets will for sure have to give up some young pieces to make this trade happen. The Rockets would have to offer some sort of combination to make it happen. Guys like Patrick Patterson, Donatas Motiejunas, Marcus Morris and Terrence Jones would be tossed around. I’m sure a pick or two could be included as well. Depending on what other teams would give up for Cousins the Rockets may have to give up a fan favorite to land the big man. I hate to say this but Chandler Parsons could be in a deal possibly, but not likely.

I know Cousins has a lot of baggage surrounding him so far in his short career, but his talent can’t be passed up. He’s quickly on his way to becoming one of the best big men in the league and nothing would pair better with Harden and Jeremy Lin than a superstar post player. Will these rumors even come about? I’m not sure. But I guarantee you it will cross Daryl Morey’s mind soon.

Garbage. Will never happen! Petrie will not trade Cuz. Unless its a blockbuster, Rondo, Josh Smith, or Batum. You want a diamond in the rough for scrap metal. In fact. Smart will probably be shown the door well before Cousins. Cousins sells the tickets on this team, not Smart

He already got one coach fired so that’s not going to happen again. You really think the Celtics will give up Rondo for a player that can’t keep his head on straight? LOL. Cousins is young so they will want young players back. What you call garbage, i call reality.

The Kings are sorry, but their not trading a future all star for role players, D league potential, and picks. Live in reality, not in Homerville Fantasy Island. The Kings will not trade for more youth. We have the youngest team in the league

I’d hate to disappoint you but the rockets are the youngest team (you sounded like a kings fan)

“unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team.”, why does Rockets need to solve Kings issue?
Rockets is now 7th in west and in great shape, do not make problems to Rockets.
