Houston Rockets Send Terrence Jones Back To Rio Grande Valley

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Just two days after recalling Terrence Jones from the NBA D-League the Houston Rockets will now send him back down to their affiliate the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

I’m not totally sure what is going on between Jones and the Rockets but this just seems odd. Why bring him up when nobody was injured. Why send him back down if nothing happened and he didn’t get any playing time?

Jones hasn’t done much in the NBA due to him not getting a significant chance. He has dominated the D-League and is leading the Vipers in the Central Division.

Jones has a huge upside, and let’s face it, Patrick Patterson and Marcus Morris look to be more fit to be back up’s than starters. Why not give this kid and Donatas Motiejunas a shot to show what they can do against the best in the league?

This team has overachieved so far but they’re not a championship team. Give these two young guys a chance and see if they have a future as the starting power forward for the Houston Rockets.
