Houston Rockets Vs. Miami Heat Preview

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

It will be a battle of East and West as the Houston Rockets face off against the Miami Heat.

The Heat are sitting at first place in the Eastern Conference and are as always lead by MVP candidate LeBron James. Chris Bosh may have to sit this game out as he’s day-to-day due to an injury.

Mario Chalmers has stated on several occasions he’s one of the best point guards in the NBA. Although I completely disagree with him, Jeremy Lin should use that and run with it. Show Chalmers who the better guard is and keeping showing signs of Linsanity returning.

James Harden will most likely be getting guarded by James, but when he is on defense he will be going up against Dwyane Wade. As usual Chandler Parsons will try to somehow slow down the freight train known as LeBron. These two guys will need to play big against James and Wade if the Rockets have any chance of winning.

The Heat are very slim in the frontcourt, even though they recently signed the “Birdman” Chris Andersen. Omer Asik, Greg Smith and Patrick Patterson should dominate the battle of the bigs.

The Rockets are on fire right now and will need to stick to their game plan if they have any chance of beating the defending champions. They will also need to play much better defense as well. Both teams have very deep benches and the game could come down to which bench gives the most production.
