The 2013 dunk contest will be televised on Saturday night and will feature some highlight-reel dunkers.
There will be two teams, one representing the Western Conference and another representing the Eastern Conference. Eric Bledsoe, Kenneth Faried and 2012 dunk contest champion Jeremy Evans will represent the West while Terrence Ross, James White and Gerald Green will represent the East.
These two teams are not even close to being evenly matched. The Eastern Conference has the far better team. In fact, Out of all 6 of these dunkers I think last year’s champion may be the least favorite.
I think Green, Ross and White are just on a different level when it comes to dunking, especially Gerald Green, who won the 2007 NBA Dunk contest, including the Mcdonald’s All-American Slam Dunk Contest in 2005. I can’t think of a player with his athletic ability mixed with insane vertical, not even James “Flight” White.
This dunk contest is set up for the East to dominate throughout while Green steals the show in the end. How great would it be for a guy from Houston to win the dunk contest in his hometown? If all goes the way I think it will, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
