On Tuesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets guard James Harden put on a show. His third 30 point performance against the Trail Blazers since joining the Rockets at the start of last season.
Harden shot 11-18 from the field, and 2-7 from deep, finishing with 33 points. Most of Hardens’ shots consisted primarily from the result of Dwight Howard screens, but of course Harden had his hero-ball shots. One of the memorable hero-ball shots came at the expense of Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews. Harden dug into his bag of tricks and got Matthews with a nice cross-over step back that lead to a “Three Point Play The Harden Way”. James also had what could be considered the dagger of the game with a cold-blooded step back three -pointer on Nicholas Batum, putting the Rockets up 11, en route to their fourth victory of the season, putting them at 4-1.
Harden, who averaged 25.9 points per game last season, recovered from a poor shooting performance against the Clippers.
