Jason Terry remains unsigned in free agency, and doesn’t appear likely to return given the Houston Rockets have just one roster spot open.

For the past 2 seasons Jason Terry has provided back-up point guard and shooting guard services for the Houston Rockets. Presently he remains unsigned in free agency and with just one open roster spot remaining on the Houston Rockets it’s unlikely he’ll be back with H-Town next season.

At 38 years old and turning 39 in mid September the other question is whether The Jet will choose to remain in the NBA or elect to move on in retirement.

He certainly has several options open in retirement should he opt to go that route. He’s made it clear he wants to pursue coaching and given his leadership skills and knowledge that will be an open avenue for him. He’s also launched into broadcasting with his new Sirius XM show “The Runway with Jason “The Jet” Terry“.

Let’s revisit his highlights from 2015-16 with the Rockets:

Certainly Terry still has something left in the tank given he scored in double digits on 17 occasions this past season. In 72 regular season games with the Rockets Terry’s best game came versus the Dallas Mavericks when he scored 19 points and dished 1 assist.

On the season Terry averaged 5.9 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and just under 1 steal per game. While his shooting has dropped off his 35.6% from three and 40.2% from the field are still serviceable numbers.

For many H-Town fans Terry is a player who has provided several highlights during his tenure and a popular player. Regardless of whether the Jet decides to hang up his jersey or moves on to another team, his time spent in Houston will be recalled with fondness.
