NBA Summer League: Houston Rockets beat the Chicago Bulls 96-88

The Rockets take down the Bulls and go 4-1 in the Summer League. The wins may not count, but there is still a ton to be excited about. All three of the Rockets draft picks have done more than expected, along with Motiejunas. A lot to look forward to after the Rockets win four out of five games.

Royce White finally showed off his scoring abilities with 15 points on a very efficient 7-12 shooting. He ended the game with a double-double with 10 rebounds. He showed off all of his abilities in the 5 games he played. From his crafty passing, scoring and rebounding. This kid has the potential to be a nightmare for teams to defend against on a nightly basis.

Jeremy Lamb had a very off night, but still ended with 16 points and 8 rebounds. He turned the ball over 5 times and shot only 6-17. Out of the five games this was the only game he struggled in. Frustrating way to end the Summer League, but you expect at least one bad game from a rookie. Lamb had an amazing camp and earned himself a ton of minutes next season.

Terrence Jones also had a off night compared to his other 4 games. He still managed to score 17 points and grab 9 rebounds. He shot only 6-16, but just like Lamb you expect at least one off night from a rookie. Jones had a great camp and made me eat my words. This kid can ball. Sorry i doubted you, Terrence.

Scott Machado was definitely the MVP of this game. Scott most likely earned himself the backup point guard position. He put up 20 points, 6 assists and had 4 steals. The most impressive stat is he had only 1 turnover. You should be very proud, Machado. You earned yourself an NBA contract.

The Summer League is over for the Rockets, but the excitement will not go away. With the additions of Jeremy Lin and possibly Omer Asik, this team will be exciting to watch. They may not have very many wins or make the playoffs, but they have a very bright future. All of the young talent will take the Rockets franchise in a positive direction. Learn these names Rockets fans, you will be hearing them a lot next season.
