The game was some what competitive in the first half, but in the second half it looked like the USA team wAS playing a bunch of fans instead of an olympic basketball team. The teams best player took his shoe off after the game and got Kobe Bryant to sign it, which i thought was a nice gesture, and to be fair i would of done the same thing. It’s nice that Tunisia has a team, but why are they playing the USA?
Anthony Davis scored 5 buckets, which most were worthy of cracking Sportscenter’s top 10 plays of the day. It’s nice to see this kid doing so well for our country before he even steps on an NBA floor. New Orleans is going to love this kid.
Carmelo continues to stay hot from everywhere on the floor. A perfect 6-6 for 16 points. His role off the bench seems to fit him and the team very well. He gives the second-unit a much needed scoring boost.
Kevin Durant was by far the MVP of this game. He scored 13 points, had 5 assists and grabbed 10 rebounds to give him a double-double. Him being moved to the starting lineup has boosted his confidence and he’s only showing the world how great he is at only 23 years old.
The next game won’t be much harder against Nigeria. I just don’t see this team losing. I know that Spain has the Gasol brothers, and Argentina and France have solid teams as well. But can they really beat the 2012 team that’s being compared to the ’92 Dream Team? Not even on a video game.
