Houston Rockets Forward Royce White Has Not Reported To Training Camp

Mar 17, 2012; Louisville, KY, USA; Iowa State Cyclones forward Royce White (30) looks up at the clock after fouling out during the second half against the Kentucky Wildcats in the third round of the 2012 NCAA men

Houston Rockets rookie Royce White did not show up to media day on Monday and did not travel with the team to McAllen to start off training camp because of a personal matter, the Rockets announced on Tuesday.

The Houston Rockets released the following statement: “Jon Brockman (eye injury), Carlos Delfino (visa delay) and Royce White (personal matter) have not reported to Rockets training camp. Updates will be provided as warranted. The team will not have further comment.”

I know what most fans are thinking, Royce White out due to a personal matter on the first day of training camp? Could it be because of his well known anxiety disorder? Could it be family related? Or could we just be worried for no reason. Either way, most of us know about White’s troubled past. Hopefully that’s where he left it, in the past.

White did attend a season-ticket-holders event last week in Houston, so he hasn’t been completely absent.  White was the 16th overall pick taken in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. A lot is expected of him immeadiately. Let’s hope it’s nothing serious and that he will join his teammates as soon as possible.
