The Houston Rockets have recalled Terrence Jones from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA D-League. He played in just two games and showed why he belongs on the Rockets roster and the possibly in the rotation.
As I said when Jones was sent down, I didn’t think he would be there for long. And boy was I right. In two games he averaged 22.5 points, 17.5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block in 36 minutes a game. In his first game he dropped 27 points and 16 rebounds. In his second and final game in the development league he scored 18 points and came down with 19 rebounds.
Those numbers are just down-right impressive. He continues to show why the Rockets drafted him, but also giving everyone a reason on why they should keep him. This kid has the potential to be star in this league if he continues to progress at this level. His confidence must be at an all-time high right now.
Patrick Patterson and Marcus Morris are scoring in bunches but they’re not doing much of anything else. Jones can do it all and when he finally gets a legitimate shot at a rotation spot I expect for him to keep it.
The Rockets next game is tomorrow night against the Los Angeles Lakers.
