According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Houston Rockets are willing to trade rookie forward Terrence Jones for a first-round pick.
“Houston’s showing a willingness to move rookie Terrence Jones for a 1st-round pick, sources tell Y! Rockets are deep at forward spot.”
This move actually makes a lot of sense. Especially after landing top 5 pick Thomas Robinson from the Sacramento Kings. The Rockets are very deep at power forward. Donatas Motiejunas looks to be more NBA ready, Royce White is basically worth nothing at this point and Robinson has more upside.
Jones has shown a lot of potential and I think he can become a great player, but if the Rockets want to make a big move for a superstar they will need to move guys like this in order for that to happen. You can never have too many draft picks and young assets.
There is no word on what teams are interested in the young man.
