Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns Rematch

Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets will get a chance at revenge as they face the Phoenix Suns for the second game in a row.

This is a very crucial game for Houston as they’re just one game ahead of the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers for the seventh spot.

Houston’s big man Omer Asik could possibly miss this game due to a groin injury he suffered in practice on Tuesday. Houston is lucky as Marcin Gortat is out for the Suns while Jermaine O’Neal is listed as day-to-day.

In their last meeting Goran Dragic struggled throughout the game until the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. His surge in those last few minutes were the difference between his team winning and losing. I expect Dragic to come out firing from the tip. Jeremy Lin needs to be up for the challenge because if he can keep up with Dragic it will be tough for the Suns to win this game.

James Harden had a monster game on Saturday night against Phoenix and I expect much of the same tomorrow night. The Suns have no answer for him on either side of the court.

Chandler Parsons should have a big game as well going up against the twins Marcus and Markieff Morris. Parsons will have them running all over the place on both sides of the floor.

One guy the Rockets need to keep their eye on is Michael Beasley. He doesn’t always show up to play, but when he does he will light you up. Guys like Parsons and Francisco Garcia should be put on him to slow him down if he does decide to show.

Luis Scola has been struggling lately for the Suns. I want to see Donatas Motiejunas and Thomas Robinson take advantage of that, especially on the offensive end since Scola hasn’t played defense in his entire career.

The Rockets should come out very motivated and determined to win this game. The playoff race is tightening up as every game counts.
