After the Houston Rockets dropped a bad loss on Sunday against the Phoenix Suns they come back and blow them out in their very next game, 111-81.
The MVP of this game was non-other than Donatas Motiejunas. He finished with a career high 19 points and 5 rebounds. He was shooting the ball well and finishing down low with ease against the Suns big men.
Guys like James Harden, Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parsons and Omer Asik didn’t have to do as much as usual thanks to D-Mo and the bench.
Thomas Robinson had maybe his best game as a pro, finishing with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Patrick Beverley got off of his 51 minute scoring slump by finishing with 6 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Greg Smith had a fantastic game with 6 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Aaron Brooks made his debut for the Rockets tonight. The crowd gave him a standing ovation when he walked to the scorer’s table to check in. They then started to chant his name as he walked the ball up the court. He finished with 3 points.
The key to this victory was that everyone contributed from the bottom to the top, every Rockets starter finished in double-figures. This is exactly what the Rockets needed, consistency from everybody.
They have a few tough games ahead as the season draws closer to the end. Every game counts as they face the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday night.
