The Houston Rockets kick off Summer League in Orlando this Sunday. Here are the players
James Anderson, Patrick Beverley, Vander Blue, Isaiah Canaan, Jack Cooley, Robert Covington, Terrence Jones, Jordan Henriquez, Tyler Honeycutt, Toure Murry, Tim Ohlbrecht, Greg Smith, Capser Ware, and B.J. Young.
The Rockets will be without Royce White, who has yet to put on a Rockets uniform after being drafted last season. This will be a coming-out party for Greg Smith, and Patrick Beverly, who both notched Playoff minutes last year. All eyes will be on Isaiah Canaan, who will compete against Beverly during the Summer League for the starting point guard position. Based on how these two perform, will inform the Rockets on what exactly to do with Jeremy Lin, and if they need a starting point guard in return.
Each of the 12 teams will play four games over the first five days of the event. July 12th, designated Championship Day, will crown a winner of the 2013 Orlando Pro Summer League. Championship Day is a new addition to the event.
To determine seeding for Championship Day, points will be awarded based on results from the first five days of Summer League play. Three points will be awarded for a win, with one point being awarded for each quarter won. In the event that teams tie in a quarter, then each team will receive 0.5 points.
The tiebreakers, for seeding purposes, are, in order: total point differential and total points allowed. A coin flip will serve as the third tiebreaker.
