Houston Rockets: Summer Vacation

By Phillip Pyle

Rockets officially sign draft pick Isaiah Canaan & free agents Robert Covington & B.J. Young

Last week during Orlando Summer League Houston Rockets small forward dropped the info on the Rockets meeting in Los Angeles to work out together. With the addition of Dwight Howard, Reggie Williams, Isaiah Canaan, Omri Caspi, B.J. Young, and Robert Covington, the Rockets have lot of new faces.

“We have big plans,” Howard said on Saturday. “We’re about to start working out. A couple of guys are flying back with me to Los Angeles. We’re going to get in the gym and get ready.”

“Just run through our sets, probably put in some offensive stuff and really just get to know one another – go out to dinners, go to work out hard together, get to know each other’s game, develop that chemistry because the earlier we start doing that, the better it’s going to be.”

Parsons and James Harden organized the summer workouts, which were originally going to be in Orlando, which is Parson’s hometown, but things changed when Howard came into the picture.

“JLin [Jeremy Lin] is out there already, Omri‘s [Casspi] coming out there, Terrence Jones, Greg Smith, Isaiah Canaan – so we’ve got a good group of guys coming out there and L.A. was just more convenient.”

Meanwhile, James Harden is busy putting in work in his “Silver Slippers” at the illustrious Nike Drew League. Harden is on the same team with Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan, and rapper The Game. At 33 The Game, actually has some. Here Harden catches an alley from the Game, and leaves the opponent frozen as he gets an easy dunk.

@drewleague !!!!!!!! Turn up!!!
