The full NBA schedule is set to be released July 26, but a couple of upcoming marquee match-ups have already been reported. According to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, new Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard won’t have to wait long to face his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers and Rockets are set to play on Nov.7 at Toyota Center, after the free agent center spurned the Lakers to come to Houston. Howard now has pretty rocky relationships with Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant and head coach Mike D’Antoni, so it will be interesting to see how he will be greeted.
But the big story line could be whether Bryant can play or not, as he is recovering from a torn Achilles that caused him to miss the playoffs. Bryant is still rehabbing, and his timetable was reportedly another 6-8 months before he can suit up.
However, we all know how much of a competitor Kobe is, so it should be no surprise if he is on the court come Nov. 7.
Stay tuned for the release of the complete Rockets schedule.
