2. Rockets Win First NBA Title

Les Alexander’s tenure started with a bang, as the Rockets won their first 15 games in the 1993-’94 season. The team was lead by Hakeem Olajuwon, who carried the Rockets to a magical playoff run.

In the finals, they faced the New York Knicks, and the colossal center matchup of Olajuwon vs. Patrick Ewing was born. The Knicks held a 3-2 lead in the series, but as the scene shifted back to Houston for games 6 and 7, Olajuwon stepped his game up and carried the Rockets to victory.

Olajuwon outplayed Ewing in every game, and won Finals MVP averaging 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks in the 7 games.

Sadly, what people will remember most about that finals was the O.J. Simpson car chase that took place during game 7.
