Not sure how this slipped past us here at Space City Scoop, but in addition to Dwight Howard, Omer Asik, and Marus Camby, the Houston Rockets have yet another center…Jordan Henriquez.

Mixed in with the Terrance Jones news and rumors about Chris Paul having the Los Angeles Clippers by the balls, seem to  drown out the signing of the 6″11 Kansas St. senior who went undrafted.

Henriquez, 23 was previously on the Houston Rockets’ Summer League roster and has averaged 4.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per game. Henriquez, averaged 5.0 PPG and 5.0 RPG during his senior year at Kansas State before earning a spot on Houston’s Summer League roster. The 6’11” big man is on a three-year deal, but it’s fully non-guaranteed.

The chance of him making the roster is slim so he may be seeing time with the NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The hiring of Hakeem Olajuwon as “Center Coach” could help Jordan speed up his development, along with the future of Omer Asik on the Rockets being in question. Not many bigs in the NBA and the Houston Rockets have four completely different centers.

I appreciate everyone showing love about me signing.. Thanks again everyone
