The long wait is finally over. The 2013-2014 NBA schedule has finally been released, and the Houston Rockets are set to open up their campaign on October 30 against the Charlotte Bobcats at Toyota Center.
The Rockets are scheduled to play 20 nationally televised games, a remarkable number compared to last year, when they were originally scheduled to only have 2 nationally televised games.
TNT also did not pick up any Rockets regular season games, but are scheduled to play 8 games on the Turner network this season. Their first game? Nov. 7 when the Los Angeles Lakers come to town.
Houston is also scheduled to play the San Antonio Spurs on Christmas day at the AT&T center. The game is slated to be on ESPN at 8:00 PM EST(7:00 CST). This will mark the 2nd straight year that the Rockets will play on Christmas day, as they played the Chicago Bulls a season ago.
ABC will also pick up one game, a March 16 date with the Miami Heat in South Beach.
The 20 televised games does not include NBATV, in which the Rockets are scheduled to appear on 8 times at the moment. However, NBATV adds games as the season goes along, so that number is likely to increase.
