NBA Off-Season: 2013-2014 Top 5 Shooting Guards

With the NBA season rapidly approaching here is a breakdown of the Top 5 shooting guards in the NBA:
Other Honorable Mentions: Eric Gordon, Jamaal Crawford, JR Smith, Tyreke Evans, and DeMar DeRozan

5. Monta Ellis
2012-2013 Statistics: 19.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists
While Monta Ellis was “unhappy” in Milwaukee, he still managed to be the dynamic scorer that we know him to be. And although his points per game dropped in Milwaukee, he still proved to the NBA that he is more than just a scorer by helping lead the Bucks to the playoffs, only to get swept by the Miami Heat. I have Ellis at my number 5 spot because, although there may be more players deserving of the number 5 spot, he’s the only player (other than the 4 I will name after him) who was one of the main reasons why his team got close or even made the playoffs last season. Ellis is now a Dallas Maverick and with a franchise who’s more accustomed to winning, and playing with a Future Hall-of-Famer in Dirk Nowitzki; we’ll see how his game improves going into the 2013-2014 season.
