2. Oklahoma City Thunder

This match up is oozing with so many different story lines; (1) upcoming franchise versus perennial Western Conference favorites, (2) James Harden versus his former team, or (3) Patrick Beverley versus Russell Westbrook. So many story lines, so much drama. Inject a healthy Dwight Howard into the mix, and you have the makings for a riveting rivalry. After the Rockets lost the first round playoff series to the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, all of the players acknowledge that the road to the NBA Finals in the West travels through OKC.

This upcoming season will be no different as the Kevin Durant led Thunder look to reclaim Western Conference dominance with the return of a healthy Westbrook. This should be a great match up filled with two explosive duos that enjoy getting up and down the court, but will the Rockets be ready to play the defense required to beat a championship caliber team like the Thunder?
