The Houston Rockets are poised for a breakout season in many ways. The additions the Rockets made during the off-season make them a much deeper team coming into the upcoming season. Against the Pacific Division the Rockets fared well, except their weakness against the Phoenix Suns. Let’s take a look at how well they match up this season against the Pacific:

The Clippers have a new coach, Doc Rivers, and a different mentality for the first time in their history. After falling to the Memphis Grizzlies in the Playoffs last season, the Clippers are heavy favorites for winning the West. The additions of Jared Dudley, Antwan Jamison, and J.J. Redick give them solid players with high basketball IQ.
The Rockets and the Clippers have the potential for some classic games. DeAndre Jordan vs. Dwight Howard, is worth admission alone, not to mention that Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are also on the court. Jeremy Lin will have his hands full with Paul, but does have the height advantage, for what its worth.
When Playoff time rolls around look for the Clippers to be in the top four, hopefully joined by the Rockets.
