The Houston Rockets media day was as eventful as expected. Dwight Howard, Chandler Parsons, James Harden, Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik, all faced the media for the first time as a team. Lets get the videos going with an interview by TNT’s Craig Sager (draped in appropriate red) of Dwight Howard.
Howard mentions during the interview that going forward the game is all mental. After being in the league for 10 years Howard may have matured into the veteran that “get’s it”.
Harden mentions that the use of excuses by the Rockets last season of being young are out the door. The Rockets took the Okalahoma City Thunder to six games in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs before being defeated.
Omer Asik gives his first interview with Houston media following the offseason addition of Dwight Howard. Asik doesn’t have the easiest understood english, but neither did ex-Rockets player Dikembe Mutumbo. Asik was asked if he still wanted to be traded. He responded with he just wants to play basketball and do whatever the coaches want him to do. Good Answer.
Chandler mentions that he gained 8 pounds in the offseason, and is ready to defend the opposing teams best player. Chandler is the only Rockets player that remains from two years ago.
