As the Houston Rockets took the floor Saturday morning for their first training camp practice, they were without centers Marcus Camby and Greg Smith.

Smith suffered a strained right hip, and will be out indefinitely for the remainder of the week. Meanwhile, Camby is battling through plantar fasciitis and is expected to miss a week.

The Rockets signed Camby in the off-season to add veteran leadership and insurance at the center position. Smith, on the other hand, finished last season as the starting power forward and is expected to be a key member off the the Rockets’ bench. With 5 centers on the roster, these injuries will open up an opportunity for undrafted free agent Jordan Henriquez.
