The Houston Rockets have made their first transaction in training camp, releasing guard B.J. Young Wednesday afternoon. An undrafted rookie free agent out of Arkansas, Young was signed by the Rockets in July after averaging 11.8 points with the Rockets summer league team.

With the release of Young, the Rockets’ roster is trimmed down to 18 players.

Young still remains a candidate for a roster spot with D-League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He averaged 15.2 points, while shooting over 47 percent from the field during his 2 seasons at the University of Arkansas.
