I had to pause for a second when I saw this headline. The possibility of Kevin Durant playing for a team that’s not the Oklahoma City Thunder anytime soon seems preposterous, but for ESPN’s Jalen Rose, he believes it could be a likelihood.
Paired with Bill Simmons for their ESPN Grantland NBA team previews, Rose predicted that after Durant finishes out his contract with the Thunder in 2016, he will come on board with the Rockets and pair up with his friend and former teammate, James Harden, and Dwight Howard.
He also predicted for Russell Westbrook to spurn the Thunder as well once his contract expires, to join the Los Angeles Lakers along with former UCLA teammate Kevin Love.
The NBA is set to have some potential marquee free agent classes in the coming summers, as Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Danny Granger, and Pau Gasol could all be free agents in 2014.
