Both guards Patrick Beverley and James Harden suffered injuries in the Houston Rockets 96-83 opening night win over the Charlotte Bobcats Wednesday night. Beverley left the game late in the 2nd quarter from a shot to the ribs, and didn’t return for the rest of the game. He played just 10 minutes and scored 5 points. Harden was bothered by a hurt back throughout the game, which lead to a slow start for him.

After receiving treatment in the third quarter, Harden helped close the game out strong with 13 points in the 4th quarter, and finished with 21 points and 5 assists. Both players are expected to play Friday night against the Dallas Mavericks.

Patrick Beverley says he’s going to be ok and expects to play Friday. Says he pulled a muscle under his rib.
