Houston Astrodome Holds Auction and Yard Sale
By Phillip Pyle

Yesterday morning I joined my mother in a line that could have easily stretched out to a mile to hopefully purchase a $20 patch of Astroturf from the once 8th Wonder of the World, the Houston AstroDome. We arrived at 8 a.m. to a line that had begun as early as 6 a.m.. After the purchasing began it was not long before the announcement was made that all the astroturf was gone, and all that was left for purchase were the heavy metal AstroDome seats, which were two for $200. Needless to say my Mom was not leaving without getting something, so carrying a 50 pound chair across the vast Reliant Arena parking lot was in order.
