The Houston Rockets once again got an early explosion from Chandler Parsons and a monster game from Dwight Howard but the Dallas Mavericks got the best of the Rockets winning 111-104.

Chandler Parsons got off to a stellar start finishing with 21 points. Dwight Howard had another monster game scoring 29 points, and bringing down 15 boards. Howard even continued his stellar free shooting shooting 9 of 13 from the charity stripe. Aaron Brooks got significant court time with the absence of Patrick Beverley (broken hand) and James Harden (ankle). Brooks finished with 18 points, and 5 dimes. Jeremy Lin returned from his stint on the injury reserve list with a solid return, finishing with 20 points.

The Mavericks continue to get the best of the Rockets with the play of veterans Dirk Nowitizki, Monta Ellis, and Jose Calderon. Dirk scored an easy 31 points, and Monta, and Jose combined for 33 points.

Surprisingly the Rockets shot 54% from the field but 7-19 from the three point line. The Mavericks shot 11-22 from deep and that was largely due to a run they went on following halftime.

Next up for the Rockets are the San Antonio Spurs on Christmas Day. The game should mark the return of James Harden, and the debut of the Rockets long sleeve jersey, and the NBA Christmas day socks.
