For the second straight game, the Houston Rockets struggled against a sub .500 team for 3 quarters, until a furious 4th quarter rally led them to a 107-98 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. Dwight Howard redeemed himself after a 2-point performance Thursday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, finishing with 24 points and 18 rebounds. Pelicans’ big man Anthony Davis held his own, as he scored 18 points and grabbed 16 boards, and it turned out to be an excellent center duel.
The Rockets started the 0 for 10 shooting from behind the 3-point line, until Omri Casspi got one to go down in the 2nd quarter.
For the second straight game, Jeremy Lin struggled in the first 3 quarters, this time to the tune of shooting 0 for 6 from the field, but provided a little Linsanity in the 4th quarter, scoring all 10 of his points.
Lin would finish with 10 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds, while James Harden scored 11 of his 21 points in the 4th quarter.
Kevin McHale after the game: ”We found a way to get a win tonight, and we didn’t play particularly well.”
