The Houston Rockets had beaten the Memphis Grizzlies in 14 of the last 15 meetings. After tonight their winning percentage against the Grizzlies is steadily decreasing, losing for the second night in a row to the Grizzlies, 99-81.

Memphis won their first game of the season in the Southwest Division on Friday night, and then repeated that success on Saturday night. Memphis applied the formula that worked so well on Friday night, clog the paint, and force the Rockets to shoot from the perimeter. On Friday night Chandler Parsons caught fire in the second half and helped to entertain the Toyota Center faithful even though the Rockets ultimately fell short.

On Saturday night there was no catching fire (Hunger Games!) for any Rockets. Parsons finished 1-6 from deep, and scored 11 points. The Rockets starting lineup combined for only 54 points with only three players in double figures. Memphis had six players in double figures including three players off the bench. (James Johnson, Kosta Koufos, and Nick Calathes)

Houston finished 9-32 from deep for 28% and two of them came late from recent D-Leage call-up Robert Covington. Some how some way the Rockets have to get the Basketball Gods back on their side when it ones to the three ball.

Only bright spot noticeable was Dwight Howard finishing with a double-double, 10 points and 12 boards.

Rockets now get two days to regroup, pray and prepare for a visit from the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday at the Toyota Center.
