Isaiah Canaan Named D-League Player Of The Week

Houston Rockets rookie Isaiah Canaan has been named NBA Development League Co-Performer of the Week along with (one time Rockets) Terrence Williams of the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
Canaan is back with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers after being called up last week to the Rockets. For the week January. 20-26, the guard out of Murray State averaged 25.8 points, 6.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds to lead the Vipers to a 3-1 record for the week.
He is on his second assignment with the team and has scored at least 19 points in all four games. On Jan. 25, Canaan recorded a season-high 34 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists in a 123-116 victory over the Austin Toros.
For the season, he is averaging 22.7 points, which is the second best on the Vipers and ranks seventh in the NBA D-League. He also has an NBA D-League-high 8.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds.
