There was a rare sighting at the Houston Rockets‘ shootaround Wednesday morning, as center Omer Asik returned to practice for the first time in about two months. While he only took part in non-contact drills, coach Kevin McHale stated that he expects Asik to be able to fully practice in 7 to 10 days. Well, sort of, according to Jonathan Feigen:

“As the Rockets hit the two-month mark without Omer Asik, Rockets coach Kevin McHale said he has “kind of” been given notice that Asik might be cleared within seven to 10 days. Asik began on court active rehab last week, usually a sign that a player is seven to 10 days from practicing.

“Everything is not a definite,” McHale said. “We’re ‘hoping for’ is what I’m getting.””

Asik also didn’t speak to media following his session Wednesday morning.

Omer Asik did shoot around today but conveniently walked out the exit away from the media.
