Houston Rockets assistant coach Kelvin Sampson will take a brief leave of absence following the death of his father, John W. “Ned” Sampson on Tuesday.
With passing of his father today in N.C., Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson will briefly leave team to be w/ family, source tells Yahoo.

Ned Sampson passed away in North Carolina, and the reason is unknown at the moment. 5 weeks ago, Sampson’s mother passed away in North Carolina as well.
