If you thought the Houston Rockets had no chance at winning on Sunday night against the Portland Trail Blazers after being down 13 heading to the 4th quarter, well you would have thought wrong. After outscoring the Blazers by 12 in the fourth the Rockets got a huge game ting three-pointer from James Harden that sent the game into overtime.

Once into overtime the Rockets outscored the Blazers 12-7 and continued their amazing play, winning 118-113. The Rockets didn’t appear to be fired up for the game pretty much throughout the contest. It wasn’t until the 4th quarter where the offense got going. The three guard lineup of James Harden, Patrick Beverley, and Jeremy Lin proved to be the best counter to the Blazers. Jeremy Lin has been suffering from a sore back, but on Sunday his play was just what the Rockets needed. Lin finished with 26 points going 10 of 12 from the free throw line. Patrick Beverley harassed Damian Lillard through the entire game picking up 4 steals, and finishing with 12 points.

Line of the night goes to James Harden who destroyed the Blazers in the 4th and overtime. In the 4th and OT, Harden had 20 points (Portland’s entire team had 28) and he hit 5/6 from 3, as shown –>

Harden finished with 41 points, 10 boards, 6 steals, and 6 assists. James joins Michael Jordan as the only player since 1985-86 to go for 40-10-6-6.

Houston is now 2 and half games back of the best record in the Western Conference. Rockets face the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow in OKC.
