It was a much needed blowout victory for the Houston Rockets a day after a 4th quarter meltdown against the Miami Heat. The Rockets recorded their best field goal percentage of the season, shooting 58 percent(46 for 79) from the field, and 52 percent(13 for 25) from behind the 3-point line in a 124-86 route of the Utah Jazz.

Playing without Dwight Howard, who sat out with an ankle strain, Terrence Jones led the way with 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Omer Asik started in Howard’s place and recorded his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Patrick Beverley scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, as James Harden played just 27 minutes, scoring 15 points on 5 of 10 shooting. Jeremy Lin and Jordan Hamilton were effective off the bench: Lin added 17 points and 9 assists, and Hamilton scored 15 points.

The Rockets have now won 9 straight home games and will host the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday night.
