With a 119-117 win over the Golden State Warriors Sunday night, the Portland Trail Blazers will be the first test for the Houston Rockets as they begin the quest for a championship next weekend.
Home court advantage for the Rockets, however, has not been clinched as the Blazers can still finish with the 4th seed in the west. A win against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, or win over the New Orleans Pelicans Wednesday will clinch the 4th seed for the Rockets, and should the Blazers lose Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, then they will lose out on gaining home court advantage.
The Rockets have had success throughout the season against the Blazers, taking 3 of 4 games, while averaging 116 points per game against them.
The latest win came on March 9, when the Rockets overcame a 13-point deficit in the 4th quarter to win in overtime.
