Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Monday afternoon, receiving 100 1st place votes.

Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard was tied for 8th in the voting with Anthony Davis, garnering 1 1st-place vote, 3 2nd-place votes, and 8 3rd-place votes.

Point guard Patrick Beverley also gained some recognition for his tenacious defensive play, finishing 17th in the voting with 2 3rd-place votes.
