Kevin McHale’s spot on the bench cooled down significantly after the Houston Chronicle has reported that the Houston Rockets will not make a coaching change this offseason.

“Kevin McHale will return as the Rockets coach for next season, a person with knowledge of the decision said today. McHale just completed the final guaranteed season of his contract, but multiple individuals with knowledge of the Rockets thinking have said management believes in him and wants him to have more time with a relatively new team that spent the season battling injuries.”

McHale has an option for the 2014-2015 season, and it appears that the Rockets will pick it up.

In 3 years, McHale has gone 133-97, which includes the 54-win season that the Rockets just had.
