Following up on their big win in Cleveland the Rockets played the second game of their back to back series facing a league worst (5-33) New York Knicks team. The Rockets knew the best way to take care of business was to bury the Knicks early which they did by taking a 56-42 lead by half and extended it to 93-69 by the end of the third quarter.

Each starter did their job registering double digits in scoring. To that end here are the player grades:

THE STARTERS

JAMES <STRONG>HARDEN</STRONG>. A+. <p><a href=. SG. Rockets

B+.  <strong><br /></strong><p>Beverley had a solid night scoring 14 points and 4 of 6 from the three plus he rendered Jose Calderone ineffective not allowing him to score. </p>. PG. Rockets. PATRICK <STRONG>BEVERLEY</STRONG>

A-.  <strong><br /></strong><p>It was great to see Trevor Ariza find his 3-point shot (4 of 6), an area he’s been struggling in lately. Granted he was facing a New York Knick team who don’t defend the perimeter well, but he’ll take the gift of timing from the schedule makers. </p>. SF. Rockets. TREVOR <STRONG>ARIZA</STRONG>

A. <p>He followed a sub par effort versus Cleveland with a great effort against the Knicks scoring 17 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, dishing 3 assists and most impressively had 3 steals. He also finished the night with the second best point differential with a +31, second only to Harden. </p>. PF. Rockets. DONATAS <STRONG>MOTIEJUNAS</STRONG>

Rockets. DWIGHT <STRONG>HOWARD</STRONG>. B+. <div class=. C

It wasn’t the offensive outburst he provided versus Cleveland, but then again that wasn’t necessary on this night. His numbers were solid and he joined his starter team mates with double digit scoring and 10 rebounds for another double-double.
