Houston Rockets Recap: The combination of the Dallas Mavericks loss and the Rockets win over the Jazz has pushed Houston back to the top of the Southwest Division and third in the West.

97. 169. 82. 118.

Houston got off to a slow start, then refocused specifically on the defensive end to force turnovers which spearheaded the offense and led to a third consecutive win. With the victory Houston take back the Southwest Division top spot and reclaim the third seed in the Western Conference

James Harden registered yet another 30 point scoring night and was joined by 4 team mates who had double digit scoring. To that end here are the player grades:

THE STARTERS

A. <p><a href=. SG. Rockets. JAMES <STRONG>HARDEN</STRONG>

<strong><br /></strong><p>Beverley had another solid performance and held Trey Burke in check. </p>. PG. Rockets. PATRICK <STRONG>BEVERLEY</STRONG>. B

For the third time in 5-games Trevor Ariza registered 5-steals. His effort defensively has to be considered when examining why the Rockets have made such huge improvements on that end of the floor. <strong><br /></strong>. SF. Rockets. TREVOR <STRONG>ARIZA</STRONG>. A

B+. <p>Had his third double-double of the season. He’s developing a good chemistry with Smith which is producing some great highlights.</p>. PF. Rockets. DONATAS <STRONG>MOTIEJUNAS</STRONG>

C. Rockets. DWIGHT <STRONG>HOWARD</STRONG>. B+. <div class=

He had a mediocre stats night by his standards, but his contribution shows up off the box score where his size served to keep the Jazz out of the paint. When he wasn’t stopping the Jazz penetration he altered their shots. As I highlighted in the pregame the Jazz rank 8th for scoring in the paint however Howard and his front court partners held them 6 points under their average.
