NBA 2015 Playoffs – Houston Rockets Player Grades: Game 1 vs. LAC

By Tamberlyn Richardson

Houston Rockets Player Grades: Game 1:

169. . 117. 77. 101

The Houston Rockets came out of the gate showcasing some rust and it showed immediately with 14 first half turnovers leading to 17 Clipper points (basically keeping them in the game). The Clippers looked tired and it showed early. Without their floor general Chris Paul it was clear so much of the offense is dependent of him orchestrating their shots.

The third quarter was terrible for the Rockets as they continued to turn over the ball and never found any offensive flow. Finally with barely a minute on the clock we witnessed the Rockets’ defense emerge which ignited their offense.  Mid way through the fourth quarter the wheels came off, Doc started utilizing the Hack-A-Strategy taking Clutch City out of the game and the Rockets appeared shell shocked.

Moving forward the Rockets will need to rebound with a strong effort in Game 2 so they can move on to Los Angeles with a split. The worst part is now Doc Rivers will likely rest Chris Paul knowing they already grabbed a split in the series.

Check back tomorrow for our post game analysis.

*Out with injuries: Patrick Beverley(wrist), Donatas Motiejunas(back), K.J. McDaniels(wrist)
