2015 Western Conference Round 2: #2 Houston Rockets vs #3 Los Angeles Clippers
A few of the major players in this series will be playing for more than the name on the front of their jersey for this match-up. James Harden and DeAndre Jordan will be able to say they are going home, as their teams goes on the road. Harden hails from Los Angeles, while DeAndre Jordan is from the H-Town area; both players will have lots of seats for family and friends as their teams look to steal a road game or two.
Other influences on this series will be the health of Chris Paul and Dwight Howard, both players suffered injuries late in the season. Howard’s knee seems to be fine as he was able to help the Rockets close out the Mavericks last week, but it could be a plaguing injury that will need to be watched as he comes off his minutes restriction. Paul pulled a hamstring in Game 7 against the Spurs and will try to rehab the tendons as the series starts immediately for Los Angeles.
Unlike Round 1, the Rockets are in a premiere series with a team that gets a lot of media attention, so with only 8 teams left, all eyes are on them. Coach McHale will try to figure out how to get his team back in game shape after a few days off, but doesn’t seem too worried about factors that he can’t control.
