The Picks:

Game Two:

Looks like the pundits still have faith in Houston and are expecting Paul not to dress as they’ve given the edge to the Rockets favoring them by 7.5 points.

The Editors Pick:

While it may just have been rust and time off it did feel like the Rockets slumped their shoulders when things went south in the second half. I can’t remember seeing the team do that all season. And, let’s not forget this is the same Rockets who played some nights with only 8 players.

Perhaps the pundits are right that Harden and the team really were that upset by losing the MVP Award. What they need to do though is get angry to showcase why he was considered their MVP.

Bottom line the Rockets need to win this game. It’s not a must win, but it really is a necessary win if they don’t want their backs against the wall. They strived all season to gain home court and now they’ll need to find that fighting spirit again to make this a best of 5 series.

Look for Harden, Howard, Ariza, Smith and Brewer to all come out aggressive and play with more energy. They still have the benefit of this series not getting more than a day off between games which is a bigger benefit to Houston than the Clippers.

Also watch to see if the Rockets build an early lead if the Clippers are satisfied just to get the split and pack it in early.

Let’s go with Rockets win by 5 points.
