NBA East Conf Free Agents – Current Status 1PM, July 1

Unrestricted: G: Will Bynum, F: Rasual Butler, F: Drew Gooden, F: Kevin Seraphin
Player Option: G: Temple Garrett, F: Paul Pierce
Obviously what Paul Pierce brought to the Wizards was timely scoring, but more importantly he added a swagger and professionalism to the squad. Word is since he opted out it’s unlikely he’ll remain a Wizard, opting to return home to Los Angeles and play for his old Celtic coach. Then this morning reports were the meeting with Washington went well though no word yet.
What might force his hand is it’s unlikely Doc can make any offers until the DeAndre Jordan matter is decided.
We’ll see…
Wizards officials encouraged by conversation with Paul Pierce tonight. Pierce, family have grown fond of DC and Pierce's role with team.

The Wizards have also shown interest in the Kings Derrick Williams:
The Wizards' top priority is Pierce, but Derrick Williams is also on the Wizards' radar. http://t.co/TqUbdzzlNU pic.twitter.com/CLtvu6Eyrx
