For years America dominated the world basketball scene and then at the 1972 Olympics Team USA lost the Gold to Czechoslovakia and the US settled for the Silver. This led to the creation of arguably the greatest basketball team ever assembled the 1980 Dream Team made  Hall of Fame players like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Rockets own Clyde Drexler.

Since then USA Basketball has made it a priority to hold a yearly assembly of the Association’s best to play in World FIBA tournaments and participate at the Olympics or just to gather for the aforementioned continuity and to build chemistry within the group. Last summer Harden captained the team who went on to win the Gold Medal at the FIBA Championships in Madrid.

Last week’s it was announced 27 players would be in attendance, but now that number has increased to 34 players. They are:

* indicates new player added

** last week Damian Lillard was listed as attending but is no longer on the list of 34 players

*** Players attending but injured

Several players attending will not participate in drills, but with the Olympics looming they want to increase their opportunity of becoming part of the 12 member team.
