Houston Rockets Unveil Alternate Uniforms For 2015-16

facebooktwitterreddit

The Houston Rockets have had a few different uniform looks over the years. After their second title they dropped the classic red and gold jersey for a more out there cartoon type logo and eye catching design with a bold pinstripe. This look was often compared to pajamas. On a side note those are still my personal favorites. It was just so out there at the time, I couldn’t help but fall in love with it.

Then in 2003 they went for it again, only this time they dropped the blue from their logo and went for the red and white uniforms they still wear today. Recently they brought back the red and gold throwback concept as an alternate uniform which was used a few times last season including during the Western Conference Finals playoff run.

Tuesday night at a team event for partners and season ticket holders, Dwight Howard, Sam Dekker and other players showed off the new jerseys to be worn in 2015-2016 and beyond. Let’s take a peek at the new looks:

First off we have the black jersey with white letter, accompanied with red trim around the letters, modeled by 1st round pick Sam Dekker. l like how smooth it looks and the potential it brings for a “Blackout” night at the Toyota Center. I hope to see these on a frequent basis.

Next up we have All-Star center Dwight Howard sporting the grey version of the “Pride” series. Just like the color grey I’m a bit indifferent about these ones. I guess I’m just not a fan of anything that reminds me of the San Antonio Spurs.

And last but certainly not least forward Donatas Motiejunas sports my personal favorite the Clutch City red and gold jersey honoring the championship teams from the 90s.
